Jasmine Crowder, soprano, is a recent graduate with a B.A. in Vocal Performance from the College of Charleston where she studied with Professor David Templeton. Jasmine was active in the College of Charleston Opera Department and had been since her first semester at the College. She made her debut with the Opera Department in the Fall Scenes in 2014. In her time in the Opera Department she has played many roles including Miss Pinkerton (Old Maid and the Thief), Giant’s Wife (Jack and the Beanstalk), and Catherine (The Lantern Marriage). Jasmine has also played many roles in the Opera Fall Scenes including Die Zauberflöte (Third Lady), Le nozze di Figaro (The Countess), and Tristan and Isolda (Isolda). She was also an active participant in the NATS Student Auditions. She has won at the State and Regionally level and has qualified for the National level for the last two years. In 2017, Jasmine received the Reid Alexander Brown award for Best Classical Woman upon winning her category in the NATS competition. Jasmine is actively singing in Charleston and is a Section Leader at St. Johannes Evangelical Lutheran Church where George Hiatt is the choir director.
